The high amount of fatty palmitoleic acid (5%), compared to other oils (less than or equal to 0.5 to 1.5%), makes the Bacuri oil a fantastic emollient, and a super moisturizing agent. Exceptional post shave feel." ~ Mantic 59, SharpologistĬK-6 is made up of some very Exotic Butters, Oils and Waxes from around the world: Kokum Butter, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Jojoba Wax, Bacuri Butter, Cupuacu Butter and Murumuru Butter! Performance as good as the best tallow-based soaps. " Lather just explodes off the brush within seconds. Introducing The CK-6 Formula: Fat of the Land So Here we are, Formula CK-6.or what I like to think of as Ground Zero to a new paradigm. Over the last several years Fran and I have carefully researched all the different butters the world has to offer, and have gone on a long, sometimes mysterious, sometimes frustrating journey to see where our experiment would take us. With much trial and error and careful note taking we believe we have arrived! Rather than try to find a new, yet to be used species of tallow or fat ( Prairie Dog Fat?), we went deeper into the jungles of South America for a tallow alternative, or rather, a Superior fat! See what we were up against? Don't even get me going into the seemingly magical combination of Lanolin & Tallow! lol Soooooo, sick and tired of all this Tallow vs Veggie talk, we thought we'd attempt to end it once and for all by delivering a soap that checks off all the boxes when it comes to all of tallow’s supposed mystical attributes: Better Glide, Better Moisturizing Properties, Better Post Shave Feel, Better, Etc. I do admit however the number of Tallow or Bust purests is shrinking.but there is still this Animal Fat is the Best mentality out there, and I find it baffling.at least from the chemical end of things. Some traditionalists think yes, though they really can't say why. Lets just say they did a pretty good job with Cold Spices, and I like it more then the Boomtown Bay Rum scent.Scent Profile: Bergamot, Rose, Jasmine, Oakmoss, Coumarin, Citronella, Juniper & CedarĮxperience the classic, masculine, old world scent of Italy with every spritz! Gondolier is a rich, balanced bouquet of Bergamot, Rose, Jasmine, Oakmoss, Coumarin, Citronella, Juniper & Cedar.īeing one of our top sellers for over 5 years now, I can assure you the harmoniously blended aromatics of Gondolier is more than sure to turn a few heads.a true crowd pleaser! IMO, the Cold Spices scent gets close to the Old Spice scent, but not completely. Now, if Old Spice scent don't bring you back to your past as a kid, smelling your dads aftershave calogne nostalgia, I don't know what will. Now, the Cold Spices scent is much better IMO. But this stuff cost me money, so I will keep using it. OK so, I kind of like the smokey nature of the Boomtown Bay Rum, but I just am not a fan of the rest of the scent notes within. Regarding the scent, I gotta be honest, I am not a fan. So I began my journey with Boomtown Bay Rum. And because PAA has like 20 of these things, there is gotta be some sent that some will like I am sure. The best part that I like about these star jelly's, is it gives me the benefits of an aftershave balm, moisturizes the skin, but the menthol has a nice cooling effect, while the alcohol kills bacteria left on the skin. And the problem with a full aftershave balm, is it can tend to be a bit on the greasy side with some of them, and stay wet for a long period of time on the skin. I am not a big fan of aftershave splash, as I feel its too liquidy, too much alcohol, and no real moisturization that I can ever detect from them, of course I have no experience with artisan based alcohol aftershave splashes, I've only used the cheap stuff you find in the store, like Brute for example. So when you combine the alcohol menthol content of a afershave splash, with an aftershave balm, you get star jelly. While some PAA star jelly's do not contain menthol, these ones however do. ![]() However, where it differs from your standard balm, is it has elements of an aftershave splash within it. It actually is closer to aftershave balm then anything else in consistency. ![]() First of all, don't let the name fool you, its not a jelly product like shave gel. So far, I am really liking these star jelly's. ![]()
